TASK:

Alongside other Brisbane school students, you have been invited to present a speech at the annual Brisbane Writers' Festival. The Symposium is a formal gathering of writers, teachers and students. Your speech is about the relevance of Shakespeare's plays in understanding the contemporary world.

You will need to speak with confidence and conviction about ONE of the thesis statements provided. As you have recently studied Romeo and Juliet, your speech must include ideas from the play and evidence from one current media text. Your presentation must include multi-modal support.

SELECT ONE THESIS FROM THIS LIST:

Families are the glue that holds society together.

Revenge may be sweet but, in the end, it accomplishes nothing.

To thine own self be true.

The course of true love never does run smoothly.
